Postgraduate Education

The University offers you possibilities to continue medical education by the following programs of post-graduate training. Foreign citizens with corresponding university degrees are admitted to the post-graduate courses:
- Short-term specialization;
- Internship;
- Ordinatura (Residency);
- Aspirantura (PhD).

Short-term specialization (STS) after residency only
Duration is 1-6 mouths. Full-time education leads to acquiring of deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a certain branch of clinical medicine. 

Internship
Only for Russian graduate citizens
Duration is 1 year. Full time education
Includes: comprehensive theoretical course and tutorial clinical practice in different clinical hospitals. Language of instruction is Russian.

Ordinatura (residency)
Duration is 2-5 years. Full time education Academy is licensed to carry out "ordinature" by medical specialities. Includes comprehensive theoretical course, tutorial clinical practice in diverse hospitals, acquiring of perfect practical skills in any branches of medicine.
Language of instruction is Russian.
Each Department has also English speaking teachers.
Education and certificate about Ordinatura is equal to "M.S." or "M.D."

Aspirantura (PhD)
Duration is 3 or more years. Academy is licensed to perform PhD courses by 47 medical specialities. Training includes profound theoretical course, practical skills and writing and defense of the thesis for PhD degree by certain branch of Medicine.
Contents of course include lectures, seminars, clinical, supplementary courses and project work.
There are full time and part-time of PhD available. Part-time PhD allows student to collect cases and study groups for dissertation in the native country under tuition and assistance of Academy.
